Sardines Assam Laksa
Ingredients
- 1 can Ayam Brand Sardines in Tomato Sauce
- 1 can ayam brand pineapple , blended
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 1 cup cup cili padi
- 2 tbsp shrimp paste (otak udang)
- ½ cup dried tamarind (asam)
- 3 tbsp tamarind juice (asam)
- Salt and sugar to taste
- 1 stalk bunga kantanm chopped
- 1 stalk lemongrass, chopped
- 1 laksa leaf (daun kesum)
- ½ spoon belacan
- 1 Packet Laksa Noodle
Method
- Cook the laksa noodle and set aside.
- In a food blender, add onion, cili padi and belacan. Blend all until smooth. Set this chilli paste aside
- In a cooking pot, add a bit of oil and add the lemongrass. Add the laksa leaf and bunga kantan and the blended chili paste. Let it cook.
- In a clean blender, pour 1 can of Sardines in Tomato Sauce with the sauce . Roughly blend and pour into the cooking pot.
- In a clean blender, pour in 1 can Ayam Brand Pineapple with syrup. Blend. Pour into pot and let it boil.
- You may pour in some water to adjust the thickness.
- Add shrimp paste, dried tamarind tamarind paste, salt and pepper. Stir slowly while it boils.
- Once done, pour on to the laksa noodle and serve while it’s hot.
- Add extra sardines in tomato sauce on top if preferred.
